Biography
Siva Ponnupandian was born in Tamilnadu, India. He received his Master's degree in Polymer Technology from a college affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India, in 2014. Siva obtained his dual PhD in Polymer Chemistry under the Dual Doctoral Degree Program (DDDP) from Rubber Technology Centre, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, West Bengal, India and the Department of Chemistry, Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia, in 2021. Siva's PhD research focuses on developing Fluorinated acrylate polymers via Reversible Addition Fragmentation Chain-Transfer (RAFT) polymerization for hydrophobic coating applications.
Before joining Trinity, Siva worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Corporate Research and Development Centre, Bharath Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Greater Noida, India. Currently, Siva has been working with Prof. Ramesh Babu and the group as a Research Fellow at CRANN, School of Chemistry associated with Trinity College Dublin, since February 2022. His research at Trinity focuses on biodegradable polymers, polymer blends and nanocomposites, and polymer modification.
