Biography
Born 20 Jan 1971, India
Position: Research Manager in Materials Ireland (MI) Polymer Research Centre at Trinity College, Dublin. Dr. Ramesh graduated from the University of Bombay, India in 1998 with a Ph.D. in Chemistry. He has worked in Clariant Gmbh and Asahi Kasei Corporation, Japan where his research work involved the development of new patented nanocomposites for applications including membranes, packing film, automotive components and foam applications.
The current position involves the scientific, commercial and administrative management of an advanced materials research centre located in Trinity College Dublin. The Centre's primary focus is advanced materials and nanotechnology research under European, National and Industrial funded programmes. Our charter is to promote innovation and competitiveness by identifying and developing new research for Irish industry based on nanotechnology. Currently Dr. Ramesh is Principal Investigator (PI) on projects sponsored by Enterprise Ireland to develop polymer nanocomposites for Irish Industries under Innovation partnership Scheme. He is also actively involved in various EU programmes and collaboration with European universities in the areas of carbon nanotubes and nanocomposites.
