The unifying goal of the currently funded SFI PIYRA project is to develop a
library of “smart” nanomaterials incorporating modular molecular components
that can be interchanged and thus tailored for the precise development of
nanosized sensors, probes, delivery vehicles and diagnostic tools that can be
used in a variety of biomedical applications. The SG research group is actively
involved in the organic synthesis of molecular switches and the
functionalisation of carbon nanomaterials. |
