Prof. Wolfgang Schmitt

Prof. Wolfgang Schmitt is Professor in Inorganic & Materials Chemistry and former Vice-President for Research at Trinity College. His work focuses on materials for sustainable energy application, including H₂ generation, gas storage, CO₂ capture, and photoactive and supramolecular systems. He has received major funding from the ERC, EIC, and national agencies, holds patents on CO₂ capture technologies, and founded the companies NEG8Carbon and SYNAERGY. He published his research work in internationally recognized journals, including Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie, JACS, Chemical Science, etc.
