Deirdre Ledwith

Deirdre Ledwith is a Senior Engineering Manager in R&D at Medtronic, based in Galway, Ireland. She leads engineering teams within the Interventional Cardiology Therapies group and is responsible for providing technical and strategic direction to deliver medical device programmes from concept through commercialisation. She owns talent, execution, and cross-functional alignment, ensuring robust product development and predictable delivery of the therapy pipeline.

Prior to Medtronic, Deirdre spent nearly 12 years with Henkel in adhesives, advanced materials and additive manufacturing. She held roles spanning research chemistry, technology development, application engineering, and market intelligence, most recently serving as Global Medical Market Intelligence and Technology Manager for 3D Printing. Her work included establishing additive manufacturing capabilities, leading global innovation programmes, and translating emerging technologies into commercial opportunities.

She brings strong expertise in bridging engineering, materials science, and product development to deliver innovative, patient-focused solutions. Deirdre holds a PhD in Chemistry and an MBA from Trinity College Dublin.
