DR GEORGE A. LONERGAN PRIZE

This prize was founded in 1985 in memory of the late Dr George Lonergan, by subscription from his friends. The prize is awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the School of Chemistry to the student who gives the best performance in the Junior Sophister year in the chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemistry with molecular modelling, or chemistry with biosciences courses, provided sufficient merit is shown and the student has not been awarded another Junior Sophister prize.
