I graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2007 with a B.A.(Mod) in Medicinal Chemistry. For my senior sophister project I worked under the supervision of Prof. Paul O' Neill at the University of Liverpool on the synthesis of anti-malaria agents. My PhD project concentrates on the development and biological evaluation of potential anti-cancer drugs. My passions include shopping, cinema, dancing, reading and travel.
I graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2008 with a B.A.(Mod) in Medicinal Chemistry. For my senior sophister project I worked under the supervision of Prof. Thorri Gunnlaugsson at TCD on the synthesis of anti-cancer agents. My PhD project concentrates on sensing and imaging of biological important molecules using functional lanthanide luminescent gold nanoparticles My other interests include shopping, travelling and going out with friends.
I graduated from Dublin City University in 2005 with a BSc.in Chemsitry with German. I then went on to complete a masters degree in molecular medicine in 2006. One of the aspects of my PhD project focuses on the development and evaluation of potential anion sensors, aswell as rotaxane formation. My interests include shopping, travel and languages and reading.
Hi I'm Swagata. I have joined Trinity as a Joint student of Prof. Thorri Gunnlaugsson and Prof. John M. Kelly. My project focuses on the development and photophysical studies of naphthalimide derivatives and their interactions with DNA. Outside lab, I love travelling, movies, music and ofcourse spicy foods!!!
Hey I'm Dave. I graduated from Trinity in 2008 with a B.A. (Mod.) in Medicinal Chemistry. I conducted my research project, which was entitled "NMR Investigations of Biologically Relevant Guanidine-Containing Compounds", at the University of Regensburg, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Ruth Gschwind. I spent a year working in industry before coming back to undertake a PhD with Prof. Gunnlaugsson. My project is primarily concerned with the lanthanide-directed synthesis of novel luminescent supramolecular self-assembly devices. In my spare time I like hanging out with friends, watching football, heading out, usual stuff...
I graduated from National University of Ireland, Maynooth in 2010 with a single honours batchelors degree in chemistry. I carried out my final year project under the supervision of Dr John McGinley and also undertook a UREKA summer internship working with Dr John Stephens, both in NUIM. I moved to Dublin in October 2010 to work in Prof Gunnlaugsson's group, my research currently based around the synthesis of catenanes. I have a wide range of extra-curricular activities ranging from theatre, politics and travel to playing music and the Irish language.
The TG Supramolecular and Medicinal Chemistry Research Group was established at the School of Chemisty, Trinity College Dublin in 1998. The Group's research interests are in supramolecular chemistry, recognition and sensing of physiologically active ions and molecules, and drug discovery and design.
