I was born in Tondela, a small town in the north of Portugal. I graduated from the University of Coimbra in July 2002 and started my postgraduate studies at Trinity College Dublin in April 2003 under Dr. Gunnlaugsson's supervision. My research concentrates on the synthesis of lanthanide-based complexes for the cleavage of RNA.
