Biography
Dr. Mukesh Pednekar is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in School of Physics/CRANN, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Since November 2017 he is working with Dr Ramesh Babu's research group on different industrial projects. His research mainly focused on the development of pre-treatments and downstream processing for industry-led projects. Mukesh completed M. Tech in Bioprocess Technology from Institute of Chemical Technology, the University of Mumbai in 2009. After working as an R&D Scientist at the industry, he has successfully completed a PhD in Bioprocess Technology at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India under the supervision of Prof. Arvind Lali (2010-2017). His doctorate research was focused on the isolation and hydrolysis of biomass-derived polysaccharides. His investigation leads to the extraction and recovery of value-added products likes oligosaccharides, fermentable sugars, protein and phenolic acid from agriculture waste. After his PhD, Mukesh Pednekar joined to Trinity College Dublin for post-doctorate research where he is working on industrial projects involving downstream processing of dairy-based process streams. Presently, he is working on the purification of lactic acid and other value-added components from fermentation broth using cross-flow filtration and ion-exchange chromatography techniques.
