Oskar Ronan

Postgraduate Student

Research

I received my B.A. in Physics from Trinity College Dublin in 2016, and completed my undergraduate thesis on Li-ion battery anode materials in Prof. Nicolosi’s group. I then joined Prof. Nicolosi’s research group as a PhD student soon after receiving my degree. My research involves in-situ and operando characterisation of nanomaterials for energy storage device applications. I use Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) to characterise the chemical and physical changes undergone by electrode materials in real time in a liquid environment.

Sometimes science is more art than science; a lot of people don’t get that.
