..the failure analysis of super capacitors..

Dermot Daly received a BSc. with honours in 2006 from Open University studying nanotechnology, quality and forensic engineering. Previously he received a diploma in electronics in 2000 and a certificate in electronics in 1994 from the Institute of Technology Tallaght.

He has 16 years experience working in industry at a senior technical level with Intel, Xilinx and HP coupled with 4 years experience working in CRANN. He is a failure analysis expert using destructive and non-destructive tools and techniques to aid root cause investigations. He is the principal materials engineer in the Advanced Microscopy Laboratory working and managing multiple industry and research projects. The AML is where he also trains and mentors post Grad, post Doc and industrial customers on microscopy and analytical tools and techniques.

He is currently doing a research masters in the failure analysis of super capacitors under the supervision of Prof. Valeria Nicolosi.
