Dr Andrés Seral

Developing different projects based on the chemical synthesis of nanostructured materials.

Dr. Andrés Seral-Ascaso received his degree in Chemistry in the University of Zaragoza (Spain) in 2008. After a 6 months of research experience in the laboratories of Prof. Isabel Arends (Technische Universiteit Delft, The Netherlands) in the field of nano-biocatalysis, he aimed to complete a PhD thesis at the University of Zaragoza under the supervision of Dr. Edgar Muñoz de Miguel (Instituto de Carboquimica, CSIC).

He developed a multidisciplinary work based on the study of carbon- and metal/carbon- based nanostructured materials synthesized by laser ablation and their application as catalyst support. Since the end of his PhD, in 2013, he joined the group of Prof. Valeria Nicolosi for implementing different projects based on the chemical synthesis of 2D and 1D nanomaterials for optoelectronic, energy storage and biomedical applications.
